The Turau Manuscript in the National Library of France (BNF): The Works of Dionysius Areopagita (Ms. sl. 105) of the 15-16th Centuries
Séance Langues biélorusse et ukrainienne comme éléments déterminants des identités - Origines et évolutions
An old manuscript of Turau origin (306 sheets) has been discovered recently in the National library of France (BNF), in the Department of manuscripts. It is The Works of Dionysius Areopagita (Ms. sl. 105) which dates back to the 15-16th centuries. The manuscript is probably a copy of a Serbian translation from Greek to the Old Church Slavonic language of the original Corpus Areopagiticum. A commentary on its history and its origin written by its holder prince Emanuel Bulgak accompanies the manuscript. The text of the manuscript demonstrates language peculiarities of the 2nd South Slavonic Influence on lexical and grammatical levels and also in graphic system. However, in spite of archaic nature of the language of the manuscript, there are some interesting local language peculiarities, to which the following paper is dedicated.
